Evaluation of Herbal Medicinal Products: Perspectives on Quality, Safety and Efficacy 1st Ed

Evaluation of Herbal Medicinal Products: Perspectives on Quality, Safety and Efficacy 1st EdBook Reviews: It would be impossible in one book to cover every possible aspect of the evaluation of herbal medicinal products. Apart from the large number of plant species used throughout the world for medicinal purposes, there are many disease states, geographical regions and cultural considerations.

Consequently, some will be disappointed that a topic has not been included, which they think important, while others will think that a particular geographical area, disease state or analytical method has been overemphasized or neglected! The authors make no presence of claiming that this volume is comprehensive, and recognize that there are many interesting and exciting developments in analytical approaches and biological studies which are barely mentioned.

However, authors hope that this collection of articles gives a sufficient overview of approaches to the evaluation of herbal medicinal products to enable others to produce similar articles to make the picture more complete. The authos’ aim is to improve the level of understanding of the various avenues that are needed to provide a fully rounded evaluation of these materials, so that they can be used with greater confidence, because of improved quality and an increasing scientifically sound evidence base.
